Police Week Exhibition Draws Interested Kids and Crowds

On May 15, Regional Police and RCMP officers from the HRM were available to answer questions and perform demonstrations for visitors about the various duties they perform daily, during an exhibition from May 14-17 at Cole Harbour Place Dartmouth.

Hines Nominated to Represent Tory Blue in Upcoming Election

The annual meeting of the Waverley-Fall River-Beaver Bank Progressive Conservative Association was held on April 15 at the LWF Hall. The nomination meeting for the Progressive Conservative Association to elect the next candidate for the provincial election was also held that evening, with 75 party members naming former MLA Gary Hines the candidate to carry the PC banner in the next election for the constituency of Waverley-Fall River-Beaver Bank. Ash Lee Jefferson, “No Strings Attached”

Students from Ash Lee Jefferson Elementary School performed in front of a packed house on May 13 and 14. “No Strings Attached was a musical adaptation of the Adventures of Pinocchio, by Mary Donnelly and George L.O. Strid. The musical adaptation was produced by Mrs D. Frizzell and Mrs. K. MacRae.

St. Rose Of Lima Serves Up Mothers Day Lobsters!!!

Lots of moms came to the LWF Community Hall on Mothers Day to enjoy the lobster supper being served by the St. Rose Of Lima Catholic Church members. On the menu was a choice of lobster or chicken, served with potato salad, coleslaw, a roll, and home-made pie. Diners had the choice of eating in and being served, or picking up take-out. Fall River Vision Group’s Vision, “Planted”

One vision of the Fall River Vision Committee – to have trees planted along the sidewalks of Hwy 2 in Fall River – was realized on May 9 when the first of 43 trees designated to the project was planted.
Sandra Carr and Michael Creighton, members of the Vision Committee, attended and were joined by District 2 Councillor Krista Snow and representatives Maureen Ryan – with HRM Planning Services, and Norma MacLean – who works with HRM Community Development.
The trees for the project were supplied by the HRM at the request of Councillor Snow and the Fall River Vision Group.
