Obituary – STONEMAN, Robert Louis “Bob”
65, of Timberlea, passed away suddenly at home on October 14, 2009. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Francis and Beryl (Foley) Stoneman. Bob was employed with HMC Dockyard Halifax as a machinist/engraver for 30 plus years. Bob was a proud past member of the Princess Louise Fusiliers Reserves. Bob enjoyed traveling, woodworking, history and his weekly gatherings for coffee with the boys. Bob is survived by sons, Robert-Scot and Dale, Winnipeg, Man.; sisters, Joan Fleckney, Windsor Junction; Peggy (Patrick) McNair, Halifax; Joyce (Les) Wah, Sober Island and Norma (Al) Sladden, Hammonds Plains; brothers, Wilfred “Bill”, Halifax; Frank (Rosalie), Lower Sackville; James (Mary), Fall River; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Carole (Mitchell) on June 4, 2009 and his sister, Sharon (Leonard) Burke (California). No visitation by request. Private family burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or charity of choice.
