There will be Christmas Carol Singing, on Dec. 12, at 7p.m., at St. Thomas Anglican Church, Fall River. This event is to benefit Feed Nova Scotia. Admission is a food item; all donations are appreciated! Please come along and enjoy!

First Solar City?? Upcoming Information Sessions

Beginning on Thursday, November 25, 2010, HRM will hold it’s first Solar City Information Session.

The Community Solar Program is a proposed project in the development stage. If approved, qualified homeowners in HRM will have an opportunity to work with HRM to install solar panels at their homes. HRM wants tell you more about this exciting proposed program – how it works and how you can apply to take part.

Information Sessions are open to the public. Dates and times are listed below:
November 25th – Cole Harbour , 6-8 pm – Cole Harbour Place – Westphal Room (2nd floor)
November 29th – Sackville, 6-8 pm – Sackville Heights Community Centre
December 1st – Halifax, 6-8 pm – Saint Mary’s Boat Club
December 8th – Dartmouth, 6-8 pm – Alderney Library – Helen Creighton Room
December 13th – Spryfield, 6-8 pm – Captain William Spry Community Centre

Chester Basin Legion and Mi’kmaq Native Friendship Centre Presents “Unsung Heroes”

The Chester Basin Legion in collaboration with the Mi’kmaq Native Friendship Centre presents “Unsung Heroes”, Wednesday at 7PM.

This is a rich evening of music, drumming and stories honouring ALL veterans, including African-Nova Scotian, Aboriginal and Merchant Marines who gave so much during the two world wars and subsequent conflicts. The evening will delight you with a unique mixture of music from different cultures, drumming and spoken word. A free-will offering will be collected to support a cross-cultural youth program.

Fall River Lions Christmas Parade

This years Fall River Riverlake Lions Christmas Parade will be held on Nov. 28, beginning at 1p.m. It will begin at the LWF Community Hall, 843 Fall River Rd., and will end at the Sobeys Parking lot. Come be a part of the parade or bring a friend to watch it. As always, it is sure to be a lot of fun for everyone!

We have entered in the Aviva Community Fund, a competition that makes funds available to create positive change in communities across Canada. If our idea receives enough votes, we will have a chance at ….$25,000!
