RCMP Investigating Theft Of Emily The Dragon From Miller Lake

Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), N.S…. Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Halifax District are investigating the theft of the popular symbol of Miller Lake known as “Emily” the dragon.
“Emily” which sits in the water just off highway 102 was taken sometime last night by unknown suspects. A popular symbol of Miller Lake has upset many residents in the area that someone would steal the symbol of the lake.
If you have information about this theft, they can contact any RCMP office, or Crime Stoppers anonymously anytime at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477) or by their Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash award from $50 - $2000.

Being new to this area, my kids and I have heard about Emily and they loved seeing her in the water. But we don’t know anything about her - her history - who made her - is the artist local? Who puts her in the water every year? Where does she hibernate during the winter months? My kids would love to know how she was made as they are taking art lessons and have wondered how Emily was made…. Perhaps you could do a story on Emily.
