Little Children, Raise Big! With “Hugs for Haiti”

Waverley, Nova Scotia (D2N) – The children who attend Wendy’s Neverland pre-school in Waverley held a fund-raiser on Feb. 11, with all proceeds being donated to the victims of Haiti’s earth-quake. Approximately 30 children participated in the “Hugs for Haiti” event; each child brought in their favourite  teddy bear, and they hugged them throughout the morning of the fund-raiser.

Wendy James, owner/operator of Wendy’s Neverland pre-school, presented a check for the donations collected, to the Canadian Red Cross. “We gave the Red Cross a check for the total, $1994.73,” said James, “and that will be matched by the government, so we are really pleased.”
